AREA OF USE
Mapecure Hardener is a colourless liquid that reduces
permeability, increases strength and seals concrete
constructions.
Mapecure Hardener will penetrate micro pores and
finer cracks in the concrete without leaving a film after
treatment.
The Mapecure Hardener treatment of the concrete
structure will seal the surface and reduce water
penetration. Consequently the deterioration process
of concrete will be impeded, there will be less growth
of algae and fungus, any miscolouring will be reduced
and the durability of the construction is considerably
increased.
MAPECURE HARDENER AS IMPREGNATION
Mapecure Hardener treatment will tighten the concrete
surface and reduce the water permeation. This will
increase the durability, reduce growth of fungus and
discolouring.
Impregantion with Mapecure Hardener will:
• Strengthen concrete surfaces .
• Reduce or totally eliminate problems of dusting from
weaker concrete surfaces .
• Reduce water penetration .
• Fill smaller cracks and pores
• Reduce need for regular maintenance .
• Stop growth of fungus and discoloration .
• Increase concrete durability .
The concrete surface must be clean, free of particles
and dry when treated. Ambient temperature at
application time and the next 24 hours must be at least
+ 5 °C. Mapecure Hardener is a low viscous liquid
easily applicable with a roller, brush or by spraying. The
concrete surface should be treated with Mapecure
Hardener in two coatings. The second layer should
be applied immediately after the first one has been
absorbed into the substrate. If the surface contains a lot
of smaller cracks, a third coating might be necessary.
The products harening time is dependent on the actual
concrete quality; it might take as long as three weeks.
Mapecure Hardener treated floors/slabs can be walked
on as soon as they are surface dry (1/2 to 1 hour).
MAPECURE HARDENER AS CURING
Mapecure Hardener can be sprayed onto fresh
concrete for reducing evaporation from concrete surface
and thereby reduce risk of cracks. After casting it is
recommended to treat concrete with Mapecrete Film
NOR and then after throweling or polishing Mapecure
Hardener can be used as curing membrane. Application
should be done with a suitable spray can.
Mapecure Hardener is tested for water retention
in accordance with ASTM C309, and meets the
requirements.
Mapecure Hardener will penetrate into concrete’s
surface and will not leave any remaining film in top
of concrete. Mapecure Hardener used as a curing
membrane should therefore not be in conflict with any
further impregnation or surface treatment of concrete.

from 0.1 to 0.3 litre per m² per coating.
